About EADC
Founded in 1993, the East Athens Development Corporation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Athens, GA, serving clients throughout Northeast Georgia. Since its start with neighborhood revitalization, EADC has grown over the years to include services in:
- Community-based micro-enterprise
- Job training and development
- Affordable housing initiatives
- Historic preservation and protection in the African-American community
Our History:
EADC was founded in 1993, when funding became available for substantial revitalization of Athens' Triangle Plaza and other parts of East Athens. This, our first project, addressed areas of code compliance, facade, signage, and public facilities. Today, nine business call Triangle Plaza home.
Our Board:
EADC's Board of Directors is always at least 51% composed of residents of the communities we serve. Our board oversees our programs' design and makes sure that EADC remains responsive to socio-economic issues in the communities we serve.
